Biography :   A few month after receiving his B.E. degree, with distinction, from the Osmania University Prof. Ahmed left for the USA to purse his Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Kansas at Lawrence , Kansas. After earning his Master’s degree Prof. Ahmed joined Essex Group, Chicago, [ a subsidiary of United Technologies] a manufacturing of wide variety of cables, as a design engineer. Later on he was promoted to the position of Manager. Quality control. While working at Essex Prof. Ahmed was offered a challenging position by Belden Corporation, Richmond Indiana, a company very famous for the manufacturing of electronic cables, in their Quality Control Dept, Which he readily accepted.

After a year and half at Belden, Prof. Ahmed found an opportunity to utilize his US experience, in design and quality control, in Saudi Arabia. He worked at Saudi Cable Company in several different positions, the last one as technical support and customer service Manager in their marketing arm.

Prof .Ahmed has a great passion for teaching since his high school years. He, therefore decided to return to the USA and joined the academic arm of international Telephone and Telegraph Corporation (IIT) in the year 1996 as an adjunct Professor. After working there for some time Prof. Ahmed joined as a full time Asst. Professor at the prestigious DeVry Institute of Technology ( now De Vry University), Chicago lllinois, an ABET accredited institution. Within a period of two years he was promoted as Associate Professor. After returning to India in the year 2001 Prof. Ahmed was offered the position of Professor in the EEE Dept at Gokaraju Institute of Engineering and Technology (GRIET) Bachupally, Hyderabad.

Within a year he was promoted as the Head of the EEE Dept. He worked at GRIET for a period of four years. He helped establish the IEEE students section at GRIET. In June 2005 he joined Deccan college of Engineering and Technology, as a Professor. After a period of one year he was given the position of the Head EEE.

In addition to his administrative responsibilities Prof. Ahmed teaches Electrical Circuit Analysis, offers his guidance to final year students on their projects and counsels students going overseas in pursuit of higher education.
Honors and Awards : “Faculty Appreciation” in March 1999 at DeVry institute of Technology USA
