Biography : Presently he is the Professor and Head of the Department of Science, Humanities and Management. He was awarded with Ph.D. Degree in Chemistry in the year 2006 and Masters Degree in Chemistry in 1984 both from MJPR University, U.P. He was also awarded Post graduate diploma in Environmental Management (PGDEM) in the year 1996 from University of Hyderabad. He joined Deccan College of Engineering & Technology in 1985 as Teaching Assistant and later designated as lecturer. He was designated as Head of the Chemistry Department in 1992. He was promoted as Associate Professor in 1999. He was elevated as Professor of Chemistry in the year 2007. In the year 2005 he was designated as the Head of the Department of Science and Humanities which was later redesignated as Department of Science, Humanities and Management in the year 2010. He also served as coordinator of examinations during 1987-1989.
During his doctoral research he worked with Dr M V Rajasekharan, Professor, school of Chemistry, University of Hyderabad. His area of research includes synthesis and characterization of coordination polymers. During his doctoral research he has synthesized coordination polymers of silver, copper, nickel and manganese with hetero aromatic ligands using various crystal growth methods such as hydrothermal techniques, layering techniques etc and characterized the crystals using analytical techniques such as single crystal x-ray crystallography, NMR, IR, UV, ESR, UV/Visible(reflectance) spectrophotometry, TGA, DTA, DSC etc. His area of research includes synthesis and characterization of coordination polymers, Nano materials and environmental chemistry. He has attended refresher courses in chemistry, computer applications and chemical engineering. He guided 25 projects on Environmental Engineering and Instrumentation systems and two students for their M.Phil. Degree. He has the honor of reviewing Ph. D thesis and reviewing research articles for the international Journals. He was examiner for Ph. D viva voce of a Central Universitly. He was the member of editorial board for text book of Applied Sciences published by the Department of Technical Education, Government of A.P. He has also co-authored the course material for PGDES Program of DR. B R Ambedkar Open University. He is a Life Member of ISTE and member of NESA. He has published 5 research papers in national and international Journals, presented 8 papers in conferences/symposia and attended 17 seminars/symposia/conferences/workshops.
His philosophy of teaching is centered on interactive model. He implements new concepts and methodology to make the subjectmore interesting by giving a practical vision. He motivates every student, especially slow learners to take active participation in his lectures. His zealous attitude and painstaking efforts to engage the students in learning chemistry is commendable. He strongly believes that students should be helped and mentored as much as possible to keep them on fast track of new concepts and trends emerging in subject. He relentlessly guides students in the subject which would be beneficial in their career. He strongly feels that computer aided teaching is an alternative high-tech approach, wherein students interact with subject material through computer simulation and experiments that is much more effective way to create learning as a passion among the students.
